Embodying the Godzone: A Journey to Alignment and Purpose.
How Melanie Ann Layer's Teachings Transformed My Mind, Body, and Soul
Introduction to My Journey
This is my first honest review and piece on a program I’ve taken. Over the last decade, I have taken numerous courses and read dozens of books, but I’ve never sat and contemplated the information and the integration of it all. This year, I plan on writing more of these, the lessons and the integrations I’ve successfully implemented that have changed the trajectory of my life for the better - the one that came directly from these teachings. If you have any recommendations on books, course or programs, shoot me an email and I may indulge in the idea.
The Concept of the Godzone
There’s a zone within us, that we are deeply connected to. In this space we are connected to THE creator and the world continuously tries to get us to let go of that partnership- that harmony we have with Him. When you are connected in the Godzone, it feels like you can breathe deeper, smell stronger, see brighter, and be more at peace and relaxed in your life, you don’t even need to convince yourself it’s going to work because you have faith that it will, you surrender to the process, and let go of the resistance. And the beautiful thing is it’s a choice to be in the Godzone.
A Holistic Program: Mind, Body, and Energy
This program is a feeling, something that needs to be felt and implemented - this was not a head knowledge program. It was a total frequency transformation. Unlike many other programs I’ve taken The Godzone requires you to fully embody the teachings. The integration work isn’t just intellectual—it’s deeply felt, guiding you to shift your energy and presence in every moment.
The Godzone - A modern-day guide to universal law by Melanie Ann Layer.
The program is easy to follow and doesn’t require a huge time investment, it is a 10-day/module masterpiece, about 1 hour each day with added homework to complete before the next recording. Every lesson builds on itself, Lenny has a way of teaching things through storytelling, humor and empowerment. The first 5 modules emphasize how to get yourself into the Godzone, and how to feel and embody this type of lifestyle. The last 5 modules speak about how to use this “power” in the world today. The homework is manageable but be prepared to invest emotional energy into the exercises. Though this program is largely self-paced, there is a huge community in the Facebook group where people share their experiences, and breakthroughs, which is honestly pretty cool to read what others have been able to create through this process. As for cost, it’s a bit of an investment, but for the transformation it provides, I’d say it’s worth it! And Lifetime access.
Let’s talk a little about Lenny, she’s built multiple million-dollar companies in the past decade, but her past wasn’t always glamourous. She too went through some pretty impressive challenges, which include sleeping in the front seat of her car in the dead of winter, witnessing a suicide, not having enough money to eat, being spiraled into a very deep emotional turmoil and online hate. I’ve always admired her willingness to keep going, to grow and to learn from her mistakes. This wasn't always the case, I judged her harshly when I first came across her online in 2018. Somehow at the tail end of 2020, our paths crossed again and she was reintroduced to me, and boy am I happy. It’s been 4 years now, that I’ve been taking Lenny’s programs, and to be honest, this was in my top 2 courses to take. Every transmission of hers shifts me little by little (even the free masterclasses), and changes my behavior daily- but this one (along with Femme Fatale) has forever altered the way I view life and myself.
My Experience with the Program
On the first day of the integration, I was wowed by the simplicity of this concept, yet so in awe of how far this could bring me. This is the short version of my journey in the Godzone program. The first few days it was easy for me to keep up with the recordings, and to do the homework… I felt alive, I felt like this was it and I felt like I was in the Godzone. This is exactly how we’re meant to feel.

Overcoming Challenges and Staying Committed
As time went on, I fell off the wagon a little. Around day 4-5, life started “getting in the way”. I was still thinking about the initial homework and the desire to get back into the Godzone, and I knew it was possible. It’s as if my familiar patterns were stronger than the desire. And so I felt grumpy and I couldn’t shake it. I couldn’t overcome myself, and shift the energy. Looking back at it now, I feel like this was the test. Now I don’t believe God tests us per se, but I do think that the enemy does. I do think that when you're on the verge of a breakthrough you’ll be tested the most. And so I listened to the program, even when I wasn’t feeling it. After a couple weeks of this, I finally decided to implement the homework and to “suck it up”. I’ve got to say, things start to shift very quickly.
As the modules went on, and I implemented more of the homework, it felt easy, and I knew I had understood something about life. I always believed that life wasn’t meant to be hard at all, but somehow society kept convincing me otherwise - everything must be difficult. And so I put the coursework down, and life starts flowing in the same direction it used to. Not that long ago, I stopped being so grumpy and remembered the feeling of being in the God zone. I sat and visualized/remembered the oxytocin, the joy and the fun I had with every little moment of life. And it instantly got me back there- at first the pull of life’s chaos is just a little bit stronger than your will make this a permanent change.
Embracing the Process and Choosing the Godzone
And so, I’ve learned that this is a choice, I’ve got to choose it consciously every day until it becomes a subconscious way of living. How can I/we do this in a way that’s fun, and exciting?
Personal growth is a tricky thing. We were taught in school to memorize, take tests and then move on to the next thing. But in reality, this is not how life changes (in the way we want it to). And so when we are reading nonfiction or personal growth books, this is how we do it: read, acknowledge, think it’s a good idea and then move on to the next book. Most times we even say things like “ Oh yeah, I know that, I learned that…” but in reality, we know it in our minds but have not implemented it or embodied the new knowledge. What works is to read, take notes, feel and then go out and practice what we learned. And then when we’ve implemented it into our life, or at least get the gist of the teachings/wisdom, we can move on to the next piece. But until it becomes subconscious, we’ve got to choose it consciously.
The Impact on My Life
These are the life shifts that have happened to me that are directly correlated with this program. I stopped worrying so much about money and about the status of my health, I have a lot more faith that what’s to come is going to be epic, and even if it isn’t I will be okay. I’ve dropped this forceful nature of pushing myself into the online space. I’ve taken a step back from promoting and speaking about the things I believe in. I am however still taking mentorship clients but I’m not as openly talking about it. I have allowed myself to find my hobbies and passions again - writing, crocheting, nature and adventures. My resolutions which you can find in this piece HERE, are a direct correlation with The GodZone Program. And you know, oddly enough, I also see a shift in my husband - because my energy has shifted more into trust, feminine, happiness and adventure. My husband is almost mirroring me (and I’m not sure he’s fully aware of this). There was a period in my life where I overthought everything I said and wrote. I would allow the external world to dictate how my day would go. I would allow small things to ruin my sunshine, and now I feel like I can pause, breath and return to The Godzone.
As we grow older, and our minds/hearts become more rigid with the habits we implement, it’s important to master these pieces of wisdom that flow through us. And not let it escape us. A lot of things we learn through personal growth is simply a remembrance of something our soul already knew-and that’s why it feels like we know it already. But the physical implementation, the natural manifestation of it is what we must focus on. It’s a total reprogramming of ourselves. Conceptual learning is head knowledge, and you can teach it to others but can not be a role model or be an “embodiment” of the lesson. And this is what we see a lot in religion, a lot of people can recite the Bible, and show up at Church every Sunday, yet they don’t feel the wisdom or the lessons that come from such a powerful book. And most importantly they don’t feel a true connection with God, the creator. So how can we become the embodiment of these lessons, and deep ancestral wisdom in a world that doesn’t promote this lifestyle or this way of living? Unfortunately, fortunately- this is where our conscious choice comes into play. Living in the GodZone is a choice that requires presence of mind. Choosing this lifestyle is exactly this, a choice -and it must be practiced until it becomes subconscious. There’s no other way, we can’t take shortcuts or get it quick, it’s a mastery over time. A mastery that will completely leave you breathless of this life. The true life that God has created for us.
Back to how do we make this fun and exciting?
There's something to be said about our imagination. We spend a lot of our time worrying and creating more problems than actually solving them. Most of our day is spent either doing the same tasks over and over again or worrying about a new problem that may arise. We never actually allow ourselves to imagine how the morning could go or how certain events could turn out. Even our idea of imagination is false, imagination is not just fairies and giants roaming around the land. It’s also imagination of what our breakfast will taste like in the morning, our living room after it’s painted or our bedroom after it’s cleaned. Imagine what your coffee smells like or tastes like, the colors of the sun shining on the snow, the animal fur touching your skin- even though we “know” what those things feel, taste or smell like (conceptually)- do we allow ourselves to get submerged into the imagination of it all (embodiment). And most importantly are we so present with these experiences that we can even imagine those things? Can we create from that presence of mind? Using my imagination to create something beautiful, even if it’s just in my home- rather than use it for doom and gloom scenarios because we do a lot of that also.
Here’s what I’ve found to be the most helpful in bringing myself back to the Godzone: first, when I wake up, I imagine what my hot drink will taste like. I have a few different cacao’s or collagen drinks that I can choose from and I have fun choosing. I then proceed to imagine the stillness of the house, the light of the sunrise, the cats snoring on the carpets and the kitchen being clean. I think about other things or tasks I can bring into the Godzone with me, and every day is a little different.

A Fun and Exciting Transformation
Lately, I’ve been contemplating or visualizing this- What if your life was shown as a scene in a movie, where you're the main star- how would it go? Can you imagine Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love - walking begrudgingly to her coffee maker, with her face all crinkled up and grumpy? Or can you imagine her waking up with a smile on her face, see her drinks her coffee like it’s the best thing in the world, walking like a Goddess in her nightgown? What if you felt like your life was like that, even if you have old pajamas and your hair all out of sorts? What if you treated your life like a movie? Even if it was only a few minutes a day or a certain part of your day. Pick something, imagine it, feel it, and allow it to happen. There is so much more depth to this exercise and this program than I could ever express in a written piece, but if you try this exercise, even if you feel it’s silly- it will give you a glimpse of how your life could go if you chose this way.
And if you do decide to practice this, because I think you should- and you feel like you’ve failed the assignment- realize it’s just a misalignment and you can jump right back into it. Don’t punish yourself, or feel guilty about feeling a certain way. Don’t self-impose more compounded emotions, it will just steer you in the same direction you’ve already been going - away from the Godzone. I felt very unlike myself the first few weeks of attempting to finish the program, but I knew I could jump right back into it when I felt the pull. Actively choosing to be in the Godzone is not going to come by punishing yourself.
**Don’t worry about the people who are not in the Godzone. You’ve got to be in the Godzone to understand it. - Melanie Ann Layer (Lenny)
Now if you feel like it’s difficult to reprogram your mind, and you get distracted by life, by people, by pets, by noise-it’s okay, be okay with it. Find a time in every day when it’s quiet. Is it when you wake up in the morning? Or before you head to bed at night? When you brush your teeth or take a shower? Use those moments to choose to be in the Godzone.
Now if you feel anxious or stressed about it, just remember this - fear is a thief, and plays a huge role in the trajectory of our life. Spend time in the God Zone, feel out what is fear, and what is truth. This is where you’ll hear your intuition, or your inner voice. The more you practice this, the more minutes you’ll be in the right space or frame of mind to keep going in this direction.
And maybe even in the beginning, the God zone looks like decluttering your home, to make it beautiful and peaceful. It may look like walking meditations, conscious breathwork, mindfulness or deep gratitude. It may look like journaling, visualizing, listening to calming music or even lighting a candle and watching it dance.
Make this practice your own, but chose it.
Final Thoughts and Takeaways
This life is about growth and evolution, not because you are inadequate, but because you have an inherent worth and power- and unfortunately, that’s not what we are taught.
If this piece has inspired you in any way, and you feel called to check it out - step into this with trust. Trust you're being guided towards the next evolution of you. The journey is never easy, but it can be fun, and more joyful. Take the plunge, and see where it leads you.
Always with love,
Steph xo
